Morso, e bacio dati in un tempo

Duet originally for Soprano and Bass with basso continuo.
Original Language: Italian

Precipitosamente Amor, e sdegno
corono su'l mio labro.
sdegno è di morsi
Amor di baci è fabro
confitto insieme e consolato io vegno.

Mordami il dente quando
bella bocca mi baci
che mordendo e baciando
bella bocca mi piaci.

Mordimi sdegno, mordi
grida lieto il mio core
pur che teco si accordi
dolce bacio d'amore.

Pene care e soavi,
nò, nò, che non mai gravi
del tuo bel dente le punture sono
offendimi cosi che tel' perdono.

English

Bite and Kiss at the Same Time

Love and scorn frolic
recklessly on my lips.
Scorn bites,
love makes kisses,
combined together they satisfy me.

The teeth bite me as
the beautiful mouth kisses me,
and in biting and kissing
the beautiful mouth delights me.

Bite, scorn, bite,
cries my heart joyfully,
for with you the
sweet kiss of love is united.

Pains, precious and sweet,
no, no, for the piercing of
your beautiful teeth is never hurtful:
affront me thus that I can forgive you.
